About the WATER FOR WATER (WfW)
Zambia Student Bursary

SINCE 2015, WATER FOR WATER (WfW) has provided financial support to over 1,000 students to obtain training in water-related studies. WfW Zambia is excited to announce that applications are now open for bursaries in Plumbing and Pipe Fitting and Water Supply and Sanitation Operations for the 2026 academic year, and is now expanding it’s reach to support even more aspiring professionals nationwide!

We welcome applications from young Zambians with a passion for careers in the water sector, particularly those interested in Plumbing and Pipe Fitting (PPF), and Water Supply and Sanitation Operations (WaSSOp).

Grade 12 Results

National Registration Cards

Acceptance Letter from partner Vocational Training Institute (VTI)

Lusaka Vocational and Technical College (LVTC) Mansa Trades Training Institute (MTTI), Solwezi Trades Training Institute (SOTTI), Livingstone Institute of Business and Engineering Studies (LIBES), St Mawaggali Trades Technical Institute, Kabwe Institute of Technology (KIT).

Selection Criteria

The following is the process of awarding WfW bursaries:

Academic Performance:

Students with a Pass or better in the required courses which are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

Financial Need:

Bursaries will target students from low-income backgrounds who may not have the financial means to pursue vocational education.

Studying Water-related Courses:

Bursaries are focused on water-related courses which are Water Supply and Sanitation Operations (WASSOP) and Plumbing and Pipe Fitting (PPF).

Priority Groups:

Women and people from rural areas - to promote inclusivity and address disparities in education.

Application Review

WfW will ensure transparent selection criteria for bursary recipients, ensuring that they are based on merit and need, rather than discriminatory factors. WfW will also promote gender equality and diversity by actively encouraging the participation of women and  minority groups.
Notification to Awardees:
Successful applicants are notified of their selection and provided with instructions on accepting the bursary.
The bursary support will be offered through a combination of grants and repayable financial assistance, enabling more young people to access training opportunities while promoting shared responsibility and sustainability.
